POKÉMON

Pokémon Auto-Grind & cheats

Grinding levels is the least fun part of Pokémon. Auto-Grind does the walking and fighting for you, and stops the moment something actually needs your attention.

Supported games

Auto-Grind reads the game's memory directly, so it knows when a battle starts, which moves have PP left and whether the opponent is Shiny. It works with the English releases of the five Generation 3 GBA games:

FireRed, LeafGreen, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire. ROM hacks built on these games often work too, but aren't guaranteed.

Turn it on

  1. Start one of the supported games and walk your lead Pokémon into a patch of tall grass.
  2. Open the in-game menu ☰ and make sure AUTO PLAY POKÉMON is ticked. An AUTO button appears in the control row.
  3. Tap AUTO and choose which moves Auto-Grind may use. Live PP for each move is shown so you can pick efficient ones.
  4. Put the device down. Tap AUTO again whenever you want to take back control.

What it does for you

  • Grass patrol — walks exactly one tile left and right (no drifting off the patch) to trigger encounters. While grinding, the game runs at 3× speed.
  • Battles — selects your chosen attacks and rotates to the next move when one runs out of PP.
  • Shiny alert — the game freezes, the device vibrates and an alarm plays the instant a Shiny appears, so you never accidentally knock it out.
  • Move learning — when a Pokémon with four moves wants to learn a fifth, Auto-Grind stops so you decide what to forget.
  • Egg hatching — rides your bike in a loop at high speed until the egg hatches.
Egg hatching: Auto-Grind keeps the bike moving so steps add up fast.

Keep an eye on your team's HP between sessions — heal up at a Pokémon Center before leaving Auto-Grind running for a long time.

Save your game (or a save state) before trying a new cheat. Some codes change data permanently, and a few combinations can freeze older games.
